Location: Birmingham (BIR23) - Travel to other Fujitsu and customer sites will be required.

As a Legacy Technologies Network Architect, you will contribute to this by working collaboratively in service and project teams, designing and implementing medium to large network solutions and changes that enable cost-effective services for our customers. We are seeking a Legacy Technologies Network Architect to work on delivery opportunities within the secure Defence and National Security sector.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Understanding business and technical requirements
- Producing design documentation (including passing governance reviews)
- Providing hands-on configuration and implementation support
- Troubleshooting technical issues
- Ensuring smooth handover to service
Experience:
- Familiarity with legacy circuit-switched networks and point-to-point connectivity
- Design and implementation skills in TDM networks, including multiplexers, demultiplexers, and synchronization techniques
- Configuration and management experience with routers, switches, and other network devices for point-to-point and packet-switched networks
- Knowledge of SDH, WDM, ATM, Frame-Relay, and circuit to packet emulation (CTP), including limitations and constraints, especially regarding timing and layer 2 connectivity
- Implementing QoS to manage bandwidth and support real-time applications like VoIP
- Security measures such as encryption, authentication, and secure routing protocols
- Diagnosing and resolving issues in both point-to-point and packet-switched networks
- Experience with older networking equipment and software used in point-to-point networks
- Proven design experience with quality technical documentation for delivery and support
- Understanding of the full project lifecycle
- Strong communication skills with multiple stakeholders, team-player attitude, and experience in the defence sector
