HR Case Team Advisor – temporary role for a year. We are seeking a proactive HR Advisor to deliver exceptional case management services. In this role, you will ensure adherence to company policies, foster a positive employee experience, and empower managers to effectively lead their teams. You will provide comprehensive remote support for a range of employee relations matters.

Responsibilities

  • Absence Management: Short-term and long-term absence, attendance improvement, Occupational Health referrals, virtual home visits, and medical redeployment.
  • Welfare & Support: General income protection and early intervention services.
  • Performance & Conduct: Capability support (attendance and performance-related), performance management, disciplinary and grievance cases.
  • Specialist Support: Mediation, Settlement Agreements, and managing small or one-off redundancy programs.

You will be aligned with a specific business area, building strong relationships with senior HR Business Partners and line managers. Furthermore, you will contribute to ongoing initiatives aimed at enhancing the efficiency of our absence and performance support processes. This role will help you grow your employee relations expertise, HR advisory skillset, and develop your resilience, professional judgement and teamwork. It is a foundation to progress to more senior HR Generalist or Specialist roles.

Your Experience

You will have good knowledge of employment law, especially employee relations – disciplinary, grievance and managing absence and underperformance. You will be able to interpret and clearly explain HR policy. You will have strong questioning/investigative skills and be able to apply your judgement, considering the needs of different stakeholders, to advise managers on the right course of action for their cases. You will be analytical with the ability to analyse complex situations and provide solutions, focused on bringing cases to a conclusion. You will have good awareness of the business environment and understand the commercial impact of the HR advice given. You will be able to influence stakeholders, using relevant knowledge, policy and experience to back this up. You will have experience of building good working relationships with key stakeholders inside and outside HR. You will be resilient when encountering challenging situations.

Reporting directly to the HR Case Advisor Team Lead, you will be allocated a business area to work directly with managers as well as regularly liaising with the HR Business Partner. Training, coaching and support will be provided to ensure success in this role. The team spends 2 days per week together in the office in Derry (Monday and Thursday) and the rest of the time can be remote.
