Job Title: Duty Operations Manager

Location: Stevenage – On Site 5 Days a week. Regular travel to Bolton and Bristol.

Due to the nature of our support requirements this is an office-based role.

We are looking for an experienced Operations Manager to support the BAU Delivery across Stevenage/Filton/Bolton. This Operations Manager will be responsible for the smooth running of a contract from our offices, managing the operations team of Wintel/Unix/Messaging/Storage/DBA engineers whilst reporting into the Service Delivery Manager who will predominantly situated in the Stevenage site. This role will be responsible for ensuring all aspects of the BAU delivery as well as managing the team from a capability perspective.

Your experience

  • Proactive Management of the team to ensure they are delivery the service to the agreed SLAs and KPIs across the contract (including the writing of processes, procedures and other artifacts to ensure the smooth delivery of this process).
  • Line Management of the team including connect conversations, performance management and absence management.
  • Overseeing the performance of the in relation to their delivery of the Incident Management aspect of our service.
  • Ownership of Continual Service Improvement responsibilities of the team encouraging the team to bring these forward and championing their ideas within management reviews.
  • Developing and maintaining the core service across the contract and the relevant capability aspects of this area of the business.
  • Capability management of the team to support the MBDA Back Office contract. Specifically focusing on the training and development of the team.
  • A strong management background ideally several years within a central government or defence environment.
  • A working knowledge of SLA, KPIs and the Incident management process to a degree where these are understood at a competent level and can help drive these.
  • Ability to coordinate the implementation of fixes, improvements and requests.
  • Strong leadership and behavioural skills with operational understanding of a fast pace working environment.
  • Experience or Knowledge of managing a high performing team.
  • Ability to demonstrate significant experience of leading and managing team, including basic technical understanding.
  • Good communication skills, being able to engage with multiple internal and external stakeholders at a senior level to ensure customer needs are being met.
