We are seeking a Senior Business Development Manager (BDM) who will play a pivotal role within Fujitsu’s HMRC Business Unit, leading the development and execution of strategies that support HMRC’s Tax Policy and Transformation agenda. This role is designed for a senior professional with deep expertise in HMRC operations or the wider tax industry, who can harness cross‑functional capabilities to deliver innovative, business‑focused solutions that address HMRC’s evolving needs.
This role is critical in our efforts to support HMRC’s ambition to modernise tax administration, close the tax gap, and deliver a digital‑first, customer‑centric tax system. You will be a strategic thinker, trusted advisor, and results‑driven, capable of shaping and delivering solutions that make a real impact.
Your Role Will Involve
- Strategic Leadership: Develop and implement a proactive business development strategy aligned with HMRC’s transformation roadmap, focusing on tax policy innovation, digitalisation, and operational excellence.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Build and nurture trusted relationships with HMRC stakeholders, partners, and internal teams to identify opportunities and co‑create solutions that support policy and transformation objectives.
- Market & Policy Insight: Conduct in-depth analysis of HMRC’s tax policy landscape, transformation initiatives, and emerging trends to identify white‑space opportunities and inform business development activities.
- Capability Integration: Bring together internal and external capabilities—including technology, consulting, and delivery teams—to design and deliver solutions that address HMRC’s business challenges and transformation goals.
- Proposal Leadership: Lead the development of compelling proposals and business cases for new opportunities, ensuring alignment with HMRC’s strategic direction and maximising value for both the client and the business unit.
- Commercial Focus: Drive commercial outcomes by identifying profitable growth areas, securing investment, and ensuring the successful delivery and commercialisation of solutions relevant to HMRC’s tax and transformation agenda.
