Your role

We are looking for a self‑motivated Test Lead to join our existing dynamic Test Practice. You will lead testing for a project and work closely with all project stakeholders. Working alongside a team of dedicated professionals, you will be driven to find better, faster, more effective ways of testing and add value to the projects you are working on. You will lead by example and work to develop your team and emerging talent, strengthening the Test Practice and building our reputation as a centre of excellence. This is a fast‑paced environment where you will have the chance to grow and build upon your existing knowledge and abilities.

Core Skills

  • People management and strong mentoring and coaching skills
  • Manual and automated testing, including non‑functional, functional and end‑to‑end testing for application, infrastructure, hardware and regression
  • Production of test artefacts: strategies, plans, manual scripts, reports, defect management and reporting
  • Execution of manual and automated test scripts
  • Requirements management
  • Clear understanding of Agile, V‑Model and Waterfall delivery methodologies
  • Day‑to‑day support to programme and project managers to deliver the required testing
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong relationship‑building with peers, colleagues and customers
  • Confidence working closely with the customer (Home Office) Test Assurance team, focusing on building a strong relationship

Desirable but not essential:

  • Experience in Kubernetes, SIEM, NGINX, Elastic
  • ISTQB qualification at Foundation Level or above

Your experience

  • Demonstrable experience of Operational Acceptance and supporting documentation
  • Demonstrable understanding of the Software Development and Testing Lifecycles
  • Experience of all phases of testing, including integration, system, regression, FAT, SAT, UAT, OAT and witness testing
  • Service readiness experience
  • Demonstrable experience of Agile/Incremental solution delivery
  • Demonstrable knowledge of configuration/change/release management principles
  • Demonstrable knowledge of Continuous Integration and DevOps
  • Demonstrable troubleshooting skills and approach to defect resolution
  • Experience of managing a team
