Your role will involve:

  • This is a senior strategic leadership role responsible for defining, shaping, and driving Fujitsu Defence and National Security (DNS) market strategy for Quantum, AI and Network capabilities across the Defence business.
  • Reporting directly to the DNS Chief Digital Officer (CDO), this role acts as the thought leader and strategic owner for these domains—setting vision, market positioning, and direction for growth.
  • This is a market-facing role, engaging extensively with customers, industry partners, and prospective clients to understand demand signals, influence key stakeholders, and position Fujitsu's Defence offerings ahead of market trends.
  • Owning the strategy for Quantum, AI, and Networks offerings across DNS —defining future direction, market positioning, competitive differentiation, and long-term growth priorities.
  • Acting as the senior market-facing leader, engaging customers and partners to understand DNS digital ambitions, shape demand, and translate insights into actionable strategic direction for DNS.
  • Developing and maintaining a coherent multi-year roadmap, ensuring alignment between capability development, customer requirements and transformation goals, and Fujitsu's wider technology vision.
  • Partnering with other DNS capability leaders (e.g., Head of AI) who will develop offerings and execute against your strategy.
  • Representing Fujitsu as a thought leader at Defence and National Security innovation forums—promoting DNS' expertise in emerging technologies.
  • Monitoring market, technology and policy trends in Quantum, AI and networking (including secure-by-design, trusted AI, and post-quantum security) and ensuring DNS offerings remain ahead of customer needs.
  • Building senior customer relationships and supporting pre-sales, pursuit strategies and bid activity with strategic messaging and shaping.
  • Championing innovation, fostering an environment where emerging technologies can be safely trialled, scaled, and embedded into customer solutions.
  • Architecting a partner ecosystem that brings together defence primes, deep‑tech innovators, academia, and government bodies—shaping long‑term alliances that accelerate national capability in Quantum, AI and Networks, expand influence across the Defence technology landscape, and position DNS at the centre of a future‑focused innovation.

Your skills and experience:

  • Demonstrable experience shaping strategic technology direction at enterprise or sector level within Defence or highly regulated environments.
  • Track record of market-facing leadership—engaging with senior MOD stakeholders, primes, suppliers, and cross-industry partners.
  • Deep understanding of trends and opportunities in Quantum technologies, Artificial Intelligence, advanced networking, and secure digital architectures.
  • Experience translating customer demand and technology trends into coherent strategy, roadmaps, and investment cases.
  • Strong ability to influence at senior levels, articulate complex technical concepts clearly, and shape customer thinking.
  • Proven leadership in environments with federated delivery teams, ensuring alignment without directly owning all execution.
  • Ability to navigate ambiguity, think long-term, and make strategic trade-offs for the organisation.
