Responsibilities
- Review Customer Windows-related work requests with a quick turnaround to gather complete and detailed requirements.
- Automate builds of images, documents and work instructions; build and configure Windows Servers (mostly virtual and hosted on VMware clusters).
- Build and rack physical servers in Customer data centre and computer rooms.
- Update and maintain existing goldbuild images.
- Patch and upgrade Windows Servers.
- Report capacity management and attend bi‑weekly engineering meetings to provide progress updates on outstanding tickets.
- Ensure server builds adhere to Fujitsu and Customer standards and attend Customer and Fujitsu sites when needed to meet target SLA’s and KPI’s (document reviews / system installation).
- Raise immediately any risks or issues that may impact costs, delivery timescales or overall solution deployments.
- Assist in testing activities.
- Engage in projects further afield from time to time; experience in a similar role is advantageous.
- Investigate, assess and resolve customer and system issues from assigned service desk tickets within SLA timelines, following defined procedures and all IS policy documents (Change & Release, Configuration, Security, etc.).
- Maintain the security of network services in accordance with the Establishment’s Security Operating Orders and current process documentation.
Transferable Skills and Experience
- Experience in a similar role would be advantageous.
Work Hours
Our support requirements are Mon‑Fri between 0700 & 1900. You will cover 37 hours per week with typical days of 0700–1530 or 1030–1900. There is no weekend working, but overtime (including weekends) may be available.
