A highly competent and dynamic individual is required to work within the Data Centre Environmental Team on high profile projects associated with the Hardware Management and Planning of new and existing systems into Fujitsu Data Centres. Working within the team, the individual will take responsibility for the planning of workloads within agreed timescales and key specifics associated with the Data Centre. The job holder will also work closely with other Data Centre teams and representatives from Fujitsu Business Units. Fujitsu’s Data Centres are key facilities of Fujitsu and must be maintained to a high standard. Whilst this role is Hybrid in nature, there is a minimum onsite attendance of 2 days per week.
Job Purpose & Accountability
- Working as a member of a multifaceted team.
- A strong working knowledge / experience of Fujitsu’s Data Centres including:
- Process (Capacity / IMAC / EMR / Change Management)
- Toolsets (Nlyte / TFSNow)
- Development and delivery of service improvements / innovation.
- The role may require travel on an infrequent basis.
- A minimum of SC clearance is required for this role.
- Responsible for end-to-end installation planning of hardware into Fujitsu’s Data Centres.
- Interface with customer/account project teams.
- Management of floor space.
- Space planning, production & maintenance of Data Centre floor plans.
- Responsible for asset management of equipment.
- Maintaining central database of projects using Nlyte.
- Responsible for environmental set-up. Power, cooling etc.
- Reporting to the Head of Data Centre Development.
Your Transferable Skills And Experience
- Previous experience in Data Centres dealing with hardware planning and installation of workloads.
- Excellent project management skills.
- Good organisational skills; work planning and able to communicate effectively.
- Asset Management (Nlyte) & DCIM Data Centre industry awareness.
- Analysis of Data.
- Ability to self-motivate, prioritise time and workloads.
- Problem Solving.
- SLA awareness / reporting.
- Working knowledge of Data Centre processes.
- A good working level of Excel knowledge.
- Able to write a technical report suitable for a multi-level audience (Exec to Operator).
