Join a world-class biologics manufacturer and help deliver the capital projects that power life-changing medicines. We’re expanding our Capital Projects team and looking for a hands-on Project Engineer to provide technical assurance and drive delivery across design, construction, validation, commissioning and handover.
As a Capital Project Engineer, you’ll be a key technical lead within our Capital Projects Group, working closely with Project Managers, planners, cost controllers, site operations and specialist contractors. You’ll coordinate and execute work to achieve project objectives safely, on time and within budget, ensuring compliance with FUJIFILM Diosynth Biotechnologies procedures, standards and quality expectations throughout the full project lifecycle.
What you’ll do
- Provide technical assurance across design, construction, commissioning and validation, ensuring scope, quality, safety and compliance requirements are met.
- Proactively manage costs within allocated budgets; provide regular updates to cost controllers and highlight variations.
- Feed accurate progress into project plans; work with the Project Manager and Planner to mitigate delays and keep schedules on track.
- Identify, assess and escalate project risks (safety, budget, schedule, quality) and implement agreed mitigations.
- Prepare and review technical documentation for tendering; lead bid analysis with engineering/operations SMEs to select vendors.
- Support creation, maintenance and close-out of Engineering Modifications, Change Controls, High Level Compliance Determinations and associated quality/safety documents.
- Close out actions from HAZOPs, HAZIDs, Safety Reviews and TQs.
- Contribute to commercial activities, contracts, tendering and procurement.
What you’ll bring
- Degree or equivalent experience in an engineering discipline (e.g., Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, Process).
- Proven experience in project engineering on capital projects in a regulated or complex industrial environment; biopharma, pharma, chemical or FMCG experience advantageous.
- Strong working knowledge of construction and commissioning practices, validation/qualification, and quality systems.
- Familiarity with UK CDM regulations, F10 notification, and pre-construction information.
- Hands-on experience with risk management, HAZOP/HAZID, and safety reviews.
