We are looking for a reliable and motivated Film Line Operative to join our Production team. This role is responsible for producing heat shrink film in line with planning requirements while maintaining the required quality standards set out in the film specification. The successful candidate will play an important part in ensuring production schedules are met, quality standards are maintained, and improvements are made in productivity, quality and scrap reduction.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate as part of the Film Line team to support the production of heat shrink film.
  • Load reels onto trolleys and assist with winding reels during film breaks.
  • Load compactors, stockers and trolleys as required, following safe manual handling practices.
  • Support slitting operations, including setting up the slitter to run different widths.
  • Check film quality and work to shrink specification requirements.
  • Assist with pelletiser duties, including loading trolleys with trims and using lifting equipment where required.
  • Work safely in a manufacturing environment, including tasks that may involve standing for long periods, working in warm conditions and physical movement such as pushing, pulling, and lifting.
  • Contribute to continuous improvements in quality, productivity and scrap reduction.

Job Requirements:

  • You will be a team-focused individual who takes pride in producing quality work.
  • You will be comfortable working in a busy production environment, able to work under pressure and committed to meeting deadlines.
  • Good mechanical working knowledge of machinery would be an advantage.
  • Previous experience in a production, manufacturing or machine operating environment would be beneficial.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Good attention to detail and commitment to quality standards.
  • Ability to follow instructions, procedures and safe working practices.
  • Comfortable with the physical requirements of the role, including manual handling and standing for extended periods.

We are looking for someone who is dependable, safety-conscious and quality-driven. The ideal candidate will be proactive, willing to learn, and able to contribute positively to a team environment. Must be able to work shifts (2×12 hour days, 2×12 hour nights and 4 days off).
