Job Description. Location: Wallingford, Oxfordshire (On-site). Full‑time | 37.5 hours per week. At Fugro, we unlock insights from the Earth to help build a safer, more sustainable world. As a Goods‑In Assistant based at our Wallingford office, you play a vital role in supporting the movement, storage, and management of samples, materials, and equipment that underpin our geotechnical investigations and client projects. Working as part of a collaborative, multidisciplinary team, you help ensure laboratory operations run smoothly by maintaining accurate inventory records, coordinating deliveries, and supporting logistics activities. It is a hands‑on, site‑based role where your contribution directly supports the delivery of high‑quality data and insights for projects around the world. Standard working hours apply, but occasional shift or weekend work may be required to support operational needs.

Your Role And Responsibilities

  • Receive, inspect, process, and accurately record incoming goods, materials, and samples, ensuring compliance with company procedures and quality standards.
  • Support the safe storage, handling and dispatch of samples, equipment, and materials to clients, vessels, laboratories and other Fugro locations.
  • Maintain inventory accuracy through stock control systems, routine checks and timely updates to relevant records and documentation.
  • Assist with sample management activities, including sorting, packaging, transfer, storage and disposal processes.
  • Work closely with laboratory teams, couriers and site personnel to coordinate logistics and ensure materials are available when needed.
  • Help maintain a safe, organised and efficient warehouse environment, adhering to Fugro's QHSSE standards.
  • Support the resolution of inventory, shipment or delivery discrepancies while communicating effectively with colleagues and stakeholders.

What You'll Need To Thrive In This Role

  • Strong attention to detail, organisational skills and the ability to maintain accurate records.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills, with a collaborative approach to working within a team environment.
  • Basic computer literacy and confidence using Microsoft Office suite.
  • Ability to follow procedures, prioritise tasks and work effectively to deadlines in a fast‑paced operational environment.
  • Ability to undertake the physical aspects of the role, including manual handling and being on your feet for extended periods.
  • A full UK Driving Licence.

Desirable

Previous experience in a regulated environment and/or forklift truck licence.
