As an Assistant CPT Operative, you will play a hands‑on role in shaping vital ground investigation projects that support safer infrastructure, renewable energy development, and more sustainable communities. Working closely with experienced Operators and reporting to the UK CPT Operations Manager, you will gain invaluable technical skills while contributing to work that genuinely matters. This is an on‑site field‑based role.
Expectations & Deliverables
- Assist in delivering high‑quality Cone Penetration Testing (CPT) data to support ground investigation projects across the UK.
- Maintain accurate test results and documentation in line with Fugro’s technical, safety, and environmental standards.
- Operate CPT equipment under supervision, ensuring safe, reliable, and consistent performance on every site.
Responsibilities
- Work collaboratively with on‑site CPT Operators, Site Managers, and project teams to complete assigned testing activities.
- Contribute to daily equipment checks, maintenance, and rig preparation to support operational readiness.
- Follow Fugro’s procedures for health, safety, quality, and environmental compliance at all times.
- Participate in continuous improvement activities and embrace opportunities to develop technical and operational skills.
- Travel to various land and nearshore project locations, staying away from home when required.
What You’ll Need To Thrive In This Role
- A full UK manual driving licence is mandatory.
- Willingness and flexibility to travel and work away from home, including nights or weekends.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work confidently and respectfully with a variety of colleagues.
- A practical mindset with an interest or aptitude in mechanics or electronics. Additional training will be provided.
- A collaborative approach, adaptability to changing site demands, and a positive attitude towards learning and development.
- An HGV Category C (Class 2) licence is desirable.
