Join Fugro’s Nearshore team as a Vessel Supervisor and play a key role in ensuring the safe, efficient and compliant operation of our jack‑up fleet. In this role, you will support critical marine projects, maintain high operational standards and contribute directly to our mission of creating a safe and liveable world. You’ll work closely with the Nearshore Vessel Manager, Operations teams and vessel crews, becoming a trusted technical partner and an essential part of delivering successful marine operations. Whether supporting inspections, coordinating maintenance or helping optimise vessel readiness, your work ensures our fleet remains safe, compliant and ready for action.
Your Role And Responsibilities
- Coordinate vessel inspections, surveys and audits to ensure full compliance with Class, Flag, port state and client requirements.
- Oversee maintenance planning, vessel documentation and reporting to ensure safe and efficient operations.
- Support operational teams with technical advice on towing operations, equipment selection and vessel capabilities.
- Liaise with port authorities, suppliers and surveyors to secure efficient marine operations and commercial agreements.
- Monitor weather and sea state conditions to ensure safe planning of marine operations.
- Lead or assist with onsite mobilisations, maintenance periods and equipment preparation when required.
- Ensure all HSSEQ policies are implemented and support incident investigations and close‑out actions.
What You’ll Need To Thrive In This Role
- Experience in marine or jack‑up operations, including day‑to‑day vessel coordination.
- Ability to travel, including stays away from home for up to 2–4 weeks.
- Willingness to work 12‑hour shifts (day or night), depending on operational needs.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a range of stakeholders.
- GCSE (or equivalent) in English and Maths, plus proficiency in Microsoft Office.
Desirable
- Knowledge of planned maintenance systems or technical marine equipment.
- Experience preparing risk assessments, method statements or marine procedures.
- Towage or marine warranty survey experience.
