We are looking for a Facility Support & Stores Coordinator to play a key role within our innovative Sea-Kit team, supporting the delivery and maintenance of cutting-edge uncrewed surface vessel (USV) technologies. Based in Plymouth, this is a fantastic opportunity to step into a varied and impactful role at the heart of our operations. You will be instrumental in keeping our commissioning facility running smoothly, managing inventory, coordinating logistics, and ensuring the right tools, materials, and equipment are exactly where they need to be, when they are needed. Your role and responsibilities:
- Manage and maintain accurate stock records for materials, components, tools, and consumables.
- Organise and optimise storage areas to ensure efficient, safe and accessible working environments.
- Carry out regular stock checks, monitor inventory levels and highlight shortages, excess, or obsolete items.
- Coordinate goods-in and goods-out processes, including receiving, inspecting and dispatching deliveries.
- Arrange and track shipments of equipment and materials to global project locations.
- Maintain control of workshop tools and equipment, ensuring proper issue, return and condition tracking.
- Support the maintenance, calibration and certification of tools and equipment.
- Assist with the day-to-day running and upkeep of the commissioning facility, workshop, and yard.
- Track and manage company assets, including maintaining accurate asset registers and supporting audits.
- Liaise with internal teams (engineering, commissioning, logistics, procurement) and external suppliers to ensure smooth operations.
- Produce regular stock and inventory reports, including quarterly stock takes.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements across stores, logistics and facility operations.
- Ensure compliance with QHSSE, COSHH and safe working practices at all times.
What you’ll need to thrive in this role:
- Proven experience in a stores, warehouse, logistics, inventory control, or facility management environment essential.
- Experience supporting day-to-day facility operations, including maintenance coordination and workspace organisation.
- Good understanding of stock management processes and material tracking systems.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively.
- Solid IT skills, including confidence using Microsoft 365 and general systems.
- Experience working with tools, equipment, or technical materials in an operational environment.
- Awareness of safe working practices, with a focus on maintaining high standards of health, safety and compliance.
- Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and external suppliers.
- Strong attention to detail, particularly when maintaining accurate stock records and asset tracking.
- Proactive and reliable, with a hands-on approach to supporting day-to-day operations.
Desirable:
- Knowledge of COSHH and basic HSE practices.
- Experience supporting workshop, yard, or commissioning facility environments.
- Forklift licence (or willingness to obtain).
- Experience with asset tracking, audits, or equipment calibration/maintenance processes.
