Fugro have an exciting opportunity to join our Marine Asset Integrity Line (MAI) as a Trainee Inspection Engineer. In this role for Fugro, the Trainee Inspection Engineer will be responsible for subsea inspection data acquisition under the supervision of more senior colleagues. You will test, maintain, calibrate and operate inspection equipment, guide ROVs around subsea structures, execute online data recording and assist with preparation and compilation of inspection documents.

You will report into the Offshore Personnel Development Manager, Inspection Operations Lead and Inspection Manager. You will liaise with inspection staff at all levels on and offshore to ensure integrity of Inspection data and deliverables. Whilst on project you will work closely with Inspection and ROV teams.

Your role and responsibilities

  • Perform Inspection Engineering activities under supervision. This includes work onshore and offshore as required, in accordance with company policies, standards and procedures.
  • Identify anomalies under supervision.
  • Developing understanding of non-destructive testing, electrical, electronic and mechanical principles to Inspection activities.
  • Developing knowledge of common NDT and Inspection Techniques.
  • Developing knowledge of inspection requirements for most major types of inspections such as subsea facilities, jackets, floating structures and pipelines.
  • Develop an understanding of the importance of proper administration of data.
  • Other duties and administration as required under supervision.
