Fugro is now seeking ambitious Graduate Engineers to join the Engineering and Consultancy team based in our Oxfordshire head office. The Consulting team is responsible for analysing and interpreting accurate geological, geotechnical and geophysical as well as laboratory testing data which enables our clients to make informed decisions during the engineering, design and construction phases of infrastructure development projects, ultimately reducing project risk and costs. This is a varied and rewarding role where you will support the delivery of geotechnical and engineering projects across land and nearshore environments. You will take part in desktop studies, site investigations, data integration and interpretation of subsurface conditions to support safe and reliable design of major energy and infrastructure projects. Alongside fieldwork, you will work in the office applying advanced software to integrated ground models and geotechnical analyses.

You will collaborate closely with experienced engineers, project managers and clients, gaining hands-on experience while playing an important role in delivering high-quality projects across the business. Your Role and Responsibilities:

  • Supporting the consultancy and engineering teams on challenging site characterisation projects
  • Assisting with the development and use of ground models
  • Supporting collection, analysing and reporting of site investigation data
  • Collecting, integrating and managing geotechnical and spatial data
  • Carrying out data assessment, including historical data analysis
  • Producing maps and spatial outputs to support project delivery by using GIS software and modelling tools for data analysis and mapping
  • Creating, maintaining and updating project databases
  • Supporting digitalisation and automation with your ideas and coding
  • Cultivating expertise in engineering geology and applying it effectively to project development
  • Gaining an understanding of site investigations, including the purpose and type of data collected
  • Learning role‐specific tools, systems and processes
  • Potential involvement with nearshore projects, including work around jack‐up rigs

What You’ll Need to Thrive in This Role:

  • A degree (or working towards one) in Geotechnical Engineering, Geology, or a related discipline
  • A strong interest in land and nearshore geotechnical engineering and risk management
  • Willingness to work in both site-based and office-based environments
  • Experience or interest in using technical software, such as ArcGIS, ground investigation databases, or geotechnical analysis tools
  • Confidence working with data, including collecting, analysing and interpreting soil and rock information
  • A practical, hands-on approach with strong problem-solving skills
  • Good communication skills, with the ability to work effectively within project teams and with clients
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to high-quality, safe work
  • Curiosity about the natural environment and ground conditions
  • Motivation to learn, ask questions, and develop a long-term career in geotechnical engineering
