You will work closely with colleagues across projects, finance and supply chain teams, acting as the link between internal needs and the suppliers who help us deliver. Your role and responsibilities:
- Oversee project programmes and report any changes
- Create purchase orders and maintain company requisitions and queries while negotiating favourable pricing and terms with suppliers
- Challenge internal requirements when needed to ensure demand is valid and optimised
- Research, evaluate and advise management on suppliers that meet company standards for quality, quantity, delivery and after service while building ethical supplier relationships
- Place purchase orders in an efficient and cost effective way without reducing quality of service
- Work with the accounts team on invoice queries, credit notes and project or asset coding issues
- Communicate with the UK procurement team to offer support and share ideas and improvements that may benefit the wider group
What you'll need to thrive in this role:
- High School education
- Demonstrable experience as a buyer
- Experience in a commercial environment is preferred
- Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply or other relevant supply chain or procurement certification is desirable
- Fluent in English, both verbal and written
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to build relationships with internal and external stakeholders
- Comfortable analysing data and engaging with experts and suppliers
- Willing to support supply chain initiatives and continuous improvement
- Able to question and challenge when needed
- Client focused with a proactive approach to solving issues
