We are looking for skilled ROV Pilots who will be responsible for piloting our electric Remotely Operated Vehicles (eROV) installed on USVs across Europe and Africa. This role is a 5-month fixed term contract based at our Remote Operations Centre in Aberdeen. This role offers a unique opportunity to cross-train and expand your expertise with the latest technology. You will engage in diverse and groundbreaking projects, be at the forefront of the industry’s transition to remote and autonomous technology. You will enjoy a stable onshore working environment while being part of this exciting transition. Additionally, you'll benefit from guaranteed monthly earnings across the fixed term and if you reside near Aberdeen, you'll have the added perk of returning to the comfort of your own bed every night after work.
Your role and responsibilities:
- Carry out supervised piloting tasks, including general ROV control, pipe tracking work, structural cleaning and testing during subsea missions.
- Control safe and efficient launch and recovery of the ROV system.
- Maintain a proactive approach to Health, Safety, and the Environment, working in line with Fugro’s safety standards and core values.
- Ensure system readiness by completing inventory checks, pre‐ and post‐dive inspections, and general housekeeping.
- Work collaboratively within the survey team, communicating clearly and supporting colleagues and project personnel.
What you’ll need to thrive in this role:
- Previous inspection scope experience as an ROV Pilot Technician.
- Strong understanding of inspection class ROV systems.
- A nationally recognised technical or trade qualification and/or relevant vocational qualification in electrical, electronics, hydraulics, or mechanics.
- Willingness and ability to work offshore for extended periods.
