Overview
In this role you will own and optimize logistics and customs activities across UK sites, ensuring compliant, efficient freight movements. You’ll work with internal teams, partners, and regulators to govern logistics performance and drive cost-saving improvements. You will guide on customs rules, manage service providers, and maintain regulatory arrangements. This is a hands-on role with real impact on safe, compliant global operations and continuous process enhancement.

Responsibilities
- Lead daily logistics and customs activities across designated sites
- Ensure accurate recording of logistics transactions in company systems
- Provide guidance on logistics best practices and international freight movements
- Monitor regulatory and customs changes to maintain compliance
- Manage relationships and performance of freight forwarders and providers
- Maintain licences, guarantees and regulatory arrangements
- Drive continuous improvement to optimise operations and reduce third-party costs
- Support development and performance management of logistics personnel
- Collaborate with Supply Chain, Warehouse, QHSSE and operations teams to deliver services
Key requirements
- Significant experience in freight logistics and customs operations
- Previous supervisory or team leadership experience
- Strong knowledge of import/export regulations and logistics compliance
- Experience managing third-party logistics providers and contractor performance
- Knowledge of dangerous goods transportation requirements across land, air and sea
- Excellent organisational and communication skills
- Advanced IT skills with logistics systems, databases and spreadsheets
