We are looking for an experienced Project Manager with a proven background in automation to lead the control systems installations on our projects.
You will be project managing some of the largest and most complex controls systems installations in TGW history, ensuring all contracts are completed on‑time, in budget and to agreed specs.

What You’ll Be Handling
- Deliver TGWNE Control System projects in line with TGWNE Controls process and guidelines.
- Manage all aspects of the Controls project lifecycle.
- Responsible for Controls planning together with other stakeholders and resource owners to meet the project plan.
- Control costs within the Controls Project Management budget, purchasing, cash flow and project costs.
- Manage project stakeholder requirements, commissioning and electrical installation.
- Lead the Controls Core Project Team consisting of systems and software engineering teams.
- Ensure controls project delivery meets the highest quality possible.
- Assist in the development of company standards for sales specifications, cost models, design, procurement, installation, commissioning, testing, handover and support.
- Ensure the detailed controls design, manufacture, testing, delivery, installation, commissioning and documentation meets customer requirements and contract specification.
- Implement all relevant UK, European, Company and Customer standards.
- Manage specific tasks and identified projects (including risks) to ensure overall project success within technical, programme and financial constraints.
- Communicate effectively, professionally and in a timely manner with internal personnel, external customers, consultants and subcontractors.
- Deputise for Project Managers where nominated to ensure the team works effectively and professionally.
- Attend regular contract & technical reviews with project staff to review planning and promptly resolve issues.
- Visit supplier premises and construction sites to monitor progress, quality and planning for future work.
- Identify and bring variations to the TGW Ltd project manager as soon as they occur and process information internally and externally.
- Prepare cost estimates to recover changes/variations.
- Review periodically specific project design and provide internal feedback to relevant internal departments.
- Prepare technical specifications and drawings for sub‑contract equipment and participate in supplier tender assessments/negotiations.
- Actively manage all aspects of subcontracted packages from order to final acceptance.
- Participate in order review meetings with clients and suppliers.
- Attend customer sites to identify, analyse and rectify issues and faults relating to control system function.
- Ensure controls project is closed out professionally with minimum or no known issues and CE documentation is in place.
Essential Qualifications
- A relevant qualification in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering.
- Strong experience in the design and delivery of controls systems.
- Project Management experience gained within an Engineering environment.
- Previous experience of site installation and management.
- Skilled in using AutoCAD to understand mechanical and electrical drawings.
- Ability to lead and motivate teams of people, both internal teams and sub‑contractors.
- Highly customer focused with excellent communications skills.
Desirable
- Background in Material Handling/Automation Industry.
