We’re looking for an HR Advisor to join our People & Culture team in Market Harborough on a 12-month fixed-term contract. This is a great opportunity to support colleagues across TGW Customer Unit North and contribute to a friendly, collaborative and solutions-focused HR team. As our HR Advisor, you’ll be the first point of contact for day-to-day HR queries, offering practical guidance to line managers and employees throughout the UK. You’ll build strong relationships, support key business areas, and help deliver an HR service that reflects how we work together at TGW, with partnership, reliability and innovation in mind.
What You’ll Be Handling
- Providing timely, accurate and consistent HR advice to managers, helping them build confidence and capability across a range of people topics
- Visiting sites to maintain strong relationships with remotely based colleagues and offer on-site HR support
- Managing the HR inbox, ensuring all enquiries are responded to professionally and on time
- Keeping employee records up to date and well organised, across both manual and digital systems
- Supporting with employee relations matters, including sickness, capability, disciplinary and grievance processes
- Producing proactive HRIS data insights for key stakeholders (e.g., absence and holiday usage) to support informed decision making
- Preparing and issuing contractual documentation relating to employment changes
- Overseeing the administration of our Benefits portal and ensuring information remains current and relevant
- Ensuring accurate notifications are sent to Payroll and updating the HRIS and Benefits portal for all employment changes
- Delivering Day 1 Induction sessions so new colleagues feel welcomed and supported as they settle in
- Staying up to date with employment legislation and best practice, and supporting the continuous improvement of our policies and procedures
- Contributing to continuous improvement initiatives across TGWs business support functions
- Supporting the creation, review and implementation of HR policies
- Getting involved with TGWs wellbeing initiatives and helping to embed them across the organisation
What You’ll Need
- Previous experience in a similar HR role
- Qualified to a minimum CIPD Level 5 or equivalent experience
- Experience providing employee relations advice
- A sound understanding and practical knowledge of UK employment legislation
- Excellent communication skills, with the confidence to work with colleagues at all levels
- Experience supporting the implementation of new initiatives or policies
- A proactive, reliable and solution-focused approach, with a drive to achieve great outcomes
- Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities
- Ability to travel regularly to UK sites
- Experience using HRIS systems
