Fuel Recruitment is working with a leading facilities management organisation that is looking to appoint an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor/Commercial Manager to support the delivery of Education and Healthcare FM contracts across the UK. This role focuses on the commercial management of multi-site FM portfolios with a combined value of around £11m. You’ll play a key role in ensuring robust commercial controls, managing risk and maximising value across complex contracts. Flexible and remote working is supported, with occasional travel to Solihull & project sites as required.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the day-to-day commercial performance of multi-site FM contracts, ensuring best practice and value delivery.
- Analyse payment mechanisms, monitor KPIs and proactively mitigate commercial and contractual risk.
- Oversee contract conditions, variations, subcontractor agreements and dispute resolution activities.
- Ensure systems and processes capture all billable works, lifecycle costs and contractual obligations.
- Lead invoicing, WIP and payment processes, intervening where corrective action is required.
- Support lifecycle planning, budgeting, forecasting and monthly cost and profit reporting.
- Produce and present monthly performance dashboards, explaining variances and trends.
- Support bids and new opportunities through contract reviews, commercial assessments and evidence-based responses.
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with clients, subcontractors, supply chain partners and internal teams.
Key Skills / Experience
- Senior-level commercial experience within facilities management.
- Strong exposure to complex contract environments such as PFI, LIFTco, JCT, NEC3 or NEC4.
- Good understanding of hard and soft FM services, including cleaning, catering and lifecycle planning.
- Proven experience managing commercial risk, variations and dispute processes.
- Confidence engaging with clients to clarify obligations and negotiate fair commercial outcomes.
- Experience using FM and commercial systems such as Concept CAFM, Orbit, HFM or Builders Profile.
- Degree-level qualification or relevant professional membership (preferred).
