Fuel Recruitment is working with a leading UK security solutions provider that delivers physical and electronic security systems across critical national infrastructure projects. They are looking for a Security Design Engineer to join their specialist design team based in Warrington.
This role will suit someone with strong technical expertise in integrated security systems who enjoys working closely with clients, subcontractors, and internal delivery teams to produce compliant, high‑quality designs.
Key Responsibilities- Lead site visits alongside the Head of Design and wider design team, acting as the main point of contact for subcontract designers.
- Develop electronic security scopes and technical specifications following site surveys and 3D scans.
- Manage and respond to Tender Technical Queries (TQs), maintaining an accurate TQ register.
- Work with subcontract design teams to review and challenge pricing, specifications, and technical submissions.
- Produce and review detailed design documentation including layouts, specifications, schedules, and network architectures.
- Identify and manage design changes and variations through the change control process, preventing scope creep.
- Strong experience with integrated security systems including Access Control, Intruder Alarms, CCTV (analogue and IP), Audio Challenge, and Intercom systems.
- Experience integrating systems with ARC and RVRC central security management platforms.
- Sound knowledge of security equipment, devices, and system architecture.
- Experience producing URS and FDS documentation in line with client briefs and specifications.
- Knowledge of BIM / PAS 1192 and CDM regulations, including temporary works requirements.
- Experience using AMTECH (desirable) and AutoCAD (advantageous).
- Relevant qualification such as ONC, HNC, BEng, NVQ, or equivalent.
- Competent user of Microsoft Office applications.
