We're seeking a versatile Infrastructure Engineer with strong experience across modern platforms, virtualisation, cloud services, and secure environments. If you enjoy solving complex technical challenges and working hands-on with a broad technology stack, this role offers the opportunity to make real impact in a high-assurance setting.
Strong background in:
- Windows Server (2016) administration
- RedHat OpenShift
- Linux distributions (CentOS/RedHat/Ubuntu)
- End-user device provisioning and hardening (eg, Autopilot)
- Single Sign-On concepts and operations
- Working within protectively marked or secure environments
- VMware technologies
- Microsoft Azure
- General networking fundamentals
- Automation and Scripting (PowerShell, Ansible)
Experience with any of the following is a major advantage:
- Kubernetes administration (eg, VMware TKGI)
- vSphere, vCenter, VCF
- Azure or Microsoft 365 administration
- DevSecOps tooling and pipelines
- Elastic Stack
- Nessus or similar security scanning tools
- Application packaging
- Infrastructure-as-code tools (Terraform, Vault)
- Agile sprint-based environments
Typical Responsibilities:
- Maintain, enhance, and secure multi-classification virtualised environments
- Support the development and adoption of Secure-by-Design infrastructure approaches
- Assist in the delivery and support of cloud SaaS platforms and project-specific cloud systems
- Execute infrastructure maintenance through change control processes
- Monitor and manage alerting, ticketing, and incident response workflows
- Identify, diagnose, and act on system alerts and performance issues
- Keep monitoring systems aligned with evolving infrastructure
- Ensure all systems remain patched and compliant with security policy
- Assess incidents quickly, drive service restoration, and track follow-up actions
- Analyse trends to improve system reliability and performance
- Stay current with emerging cloud, virtualisation, and security technologies
- Work towards relevant professional certifications
- Provide guidance and technical support to teams and stakeholders
- Document processes, share knowledge, and support business growth activities
