Fuel Recruitment is working with a leading fibre infrastructure organisation that’s looking for a Build Lead to support the delivery of multiple fibre build projects. This role sits at the heart of build delivery, providing day-to-day oversight of build partners and ensuring programmes, quality, and safety standards are met. It’s a hands-on position, combining site presence with stakeholder coordination to keep projects moving and risks controlled.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide day-to-day oversight of assigned fibre build projects, ensuring delivery aligns with agreed programmes and standards.
  • Act as the main point of contact between the business and Build Partner Project Managers for allocated builds.
  • Monitor progress against milestones, challenging estimated completion dates to ensure they are realistic and achievable.
  • Carry out regular site visits to validate progress, workmanship quality, and health & safety compliance.
  • Identify, manage, and escalate risks relating to resourcing, materials, access, permits, or delivery delays.
  • Support tactical decision-making to resolve delivery issues and maintain programme momentum.

Key Skills / Experience

  • Proven experience overseeing fibre or utilities build projects in a multi-site environment.
  • Strong understanding of build programmes, milestones, and delivery governance.
  • Experience working with external contractors or build partners.
  • Confident in carrying out site inspections and assessing quality and safety standards.
  • Knowledge of permit management and common risks impacting civil or fibre delivery.
  • Ability to challenge data, track progress, and validate reported outputs against site activity.
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • Comfortable working closely with PCO or delivery assurance teams to manage RAID logs and reporting.
