Fuel Recruitment is supporting a leading scientific services organisation seeking an experienced Bid Manager to join their growing commercial function. This role sits across a specialist group of analytical and forensic laboratories operating within a highly regulated, fast-paced environment. You’ll be responsible for managing complex bids end-to-end, developing winning strategies, and ensuring proposals are accurate, compliant and compelling. Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the full bid lifecycle, ensuring all deadlines are met and proposals are produced to a high standard.
  • Coordinate input from commercial, technical, finance and delivery teams to produce accurate, well-written submissions.
  • Track and manage risks throughout the bid process, ensuring compliance and governance.
  • Conduct market, competitor and client research to help shape bid strategy.
  • Coordinate client presentations and visits required during the bid process.
  • Drive continuous improvement through post-bid reviews, both internally and with customers.
  • Prepare, manage and deliver Management Information for clients and contracts.
  • Create reports and dashboards that translate data insights for senior stakeholders.
  • Maintain accurate data across internal systems and conduct regular data audits.

Key Skills / Experience

  • Proven experience managing bids for complex products or services.
  • Strong background in solution selling and end-to-end bid management.
  • Skilled in interpreting and presenting data, with confidence using a range of IT systems and portals.
  • Excellent communication skills and comfortable engaging at senior level internally and externally.
  • Strong commercial understanding, including P&L and risk management.
  • Experience managing multi-workstream opportunities.
  • Sound understanding of internal governance processes.
  • Knowledge of the competitive marketplace within relevant sectors.

  • Due to the sensitive nature of work, Security Clearance is required.
  • Applicants must have five years of continuous UK residency.
