FTX Logistics Ltd is looking to recruit HGV Mechanics to deliver its contracted Heavy Equipment Transporter (HET) capability on behalf of the MoD. FTX provides this capability through the employment of Sponsored Reserves (SRs) and mechanics will be required to obtain this status as an integral part of this employment opportunity.

Mechanics will be based at our maintenance facility in Bulford, Wiltshire. You will conduct activities as both a civilian and Reservist as part of one salaried position.

JOB ROLE

Civilian

  • Routinely 44-hour week Monday to Friday including paid breaks
  • Work closely with affiliated regular army unit, 19 Tank Transporter Squadron
  • Support HET task moves in the UK on a rotational basis (3-5 days)
  • Opportunity to work at our depot in Germany (4-week placement)
  • Part of a highly skilled, specialist team.

Military

  • Obtain Sponsored Reserve (SR) status in the British Army
  • Undertake initial and annual military training, this commitment will be met as part of your employed activities
  • Deploy, under call out, in support of exercises and operations
SALARY

Civilian elements

  • Base salary £46,947.62 plus enhancements and overtime OTE circa £50.3k
  • Rotational weekend working incurring pay uplifts of 50% (Sat) and 100% (Sun)
  • 25% uplift paid for overtime worked Monday to Friday

Military additional elements

  • 50% pay uplift for operational call outs
  • Reservist annual bonus (Yr 1 £480 Yr 5 £1,970)

MILITARY ELIGIBILITY

To join the British Army as a Sponsored Reservist (SR) you must be able to comply with:

  • The maximum age for Reservist applications is the day before your 50th birthday
  • You must be a British or Irish citizen, or hold a Commonwealth/British National Overseas/British Overseas Territory passport and have ILR (Indefinite Leave to Remain) status
  • You must meet the criteria of Medically fit
