FTX Logistics Ltd is looking to recruit HGV Mechanic to deliver its contracted Heavy Equipment Transporter (HET) capability on behalf of the MoD. Mechanics will be based at either Bulford, Wiltshire or Catterick, North Yorkshire with occasional requirements to support HET tasks in the UK.
JOB ROLE
- Routinely 44-hour week Monday to Friday including paid breaks.
- Will work closely with affiliated regular army unit, 19 Tank Transporter Squadron.
- Opportunity to work at our depot in Germany for short periods (2-4 weeks).
- Part of a highly skilled, specialist team.
MILITARY
- FTX provides this capability through the employment of Sponsored Reserves (SR).
- Mechanics are required to become Sponsored Reserves (SR) in the British Army and will be required to undertake military training to support exercises and operations.
- Reservist commitment met as part of the job, not in your own time.
SALARY & BENEFIT
- Base salary £46,947.62 plus enhancements and overtime to OTE circa £50.3k.
- Subsidised commuting to base working location.
- Accommodation and overnight subsistence provided when working away from home location.
- Limited weekend working at 50% (Sat) and 100% (Sun) pay uplift.
- 25% uplift paid for overtime worked Monday to Friday when required.
- All tools and PPE provided.
- Company Pension Scheme, life insurance, subsidised travel to work.
- Option to lease an Electric Vehicle using salary sacrifice scheme.
MILITARY
- Up to 50% pay uplift as an SR, when called out for exercises and operations.
- Receive Reservist annual bonus (Yr 1 £480 Yr 5 £1,970).
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- HGV Mechanic BTEC / City & Guilds or NVQ Level 3.
- HGV C+E licence is desirable but not essential.
