Are you a commercial HGV C+E Driver looking for a new challenge? We provide a commercial service driving our Heavy Equipment Transporters (HET) to deliver Heavy Equipment on behalf of the Ministry of Defence. Our drivers can live anywhere in the mainland UK.
The driver role consists of three elements:
- Driving HET from, and support activities at, our depots in Bulford, Wiltshire, Catterick, North Yorkshire and Monchengladbach, Germany when required (must hold C+E licence).
- Be affiliated to a local driving agency close to home, to drive commercial vehicles on behalf of their clients.
- Being a Sponsored Reservist (SR) in the British Army (max application age 49 to be eligible to join as an SR).
JOB ROLE
Commercial:
- Part of a highly skilled, specialist team.
- Working from our Bulford or Catterick Depot, to operate the HET and deliver heavy equipment for the British Army.
- Opportunity to work at our depot in Germany for short periods (2-4 weeks).
- When not driving HET, drivers will be allocated to a local driving agency near to home where they will undertake HGV driving duties assigned to them.
Military:
- Drivers are required to become Sponsored Reservists (SR) in the British Army and will be required to undertake military training to support exercises and operations.
- Deploy on Operations and Exercise as required.
- Reservist commitment will be met as part of the job, not in your own time.
- Will work closely with affiliated Regular Army unit, 19 Tank Transporter Squadron.
SALARY & BENEFIT
Commercial:
- Base salary £41,620.67 with an On-Target Earning (OTE) potential of £49.3k. The salary covers all three roles.
- Accommodation and overnight travel and subsistence provided when working away from home location.
- Some weekend working at 50% (Sat) and 100% (Sun) pay uplift.
- Company Pension Scheme, life insurance, subsidised travel to work.
- Option to lease an Electric Vehicle using salary sacrifice scheme.
Military enhancements (when applicable):
- Up to 50% pay uplift as an SR when called out for exercises and operations.
- Receive Reservist annual bonus (Yr 1 £480 Yr 5 £1,970).
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Commercial:
- HGV C+E qualified with less than 6 Driving Licence points.
- In date Tachograph and CPC Card.
Military:
- Join the British Army as a Sponsored Reservist (SR).
- The maximum age for Reservist applications is the day before your 50th birthday.
Eligibility:
- You must be a British or Irish citizen, or hold a Commonwealth/British National Overseas/British Overseas Territory passport and have ILR (Indefinite Leave to Remain) status.
- Medically fit.
