We are looking for a creative, trend-savvy Media Specialist to help us connect people with clinical trials that can change lives. This role focuses on strategy, ideas and impact in a highly regulated environment.
Location: Leeds, onsite (office-based). Hours: 20 hours per week.
Job Overview
The primary role is to contribute to the success of all social media and online campaigns by increasing likes, followers and overall engagement. This includes developing content for posting on all designated social media outlets to generate participant applications, monitoring the impact of social media campaigns, and providing recommendations to maximise effectiveness of the site.
Responsibilities
- Accountable for the daily management of social platforms by writing and editing compelling social media content that promotes healthy volunteer, special population and patient recruitment in clinical trials.
- Create and implement social media campaigns and calls-to-action that drive potential participants to the website and generate applications to participate in clinical trials.
- Become an advocate of the company in marketing spaces, engaging in dialogues and sparking discussion and identifying negative commentary, reacting/responding in an appropriate way to mitigate any issues.
- Analyse the impact of campaigns by reviewing and translating data into recommendations or plans for revising and enhancing media activity.
- Seek opportunities to improve the use of new and existing marketing channels to increase followers and develop relationships with organisations and support groups relevant to special populations and patient recruitment.
- Develop email and newsletter templates to increase engagement with existing volunteers.
- Monitor trends in social media tools and applications.
- Conduct analysis on competitor activity and monitor online competitor presences/perceptions.
- Work with external vendors and partners to support campaigns and initiatives and to maximise integration of social media tools (e.g., ‘like’ and ‘share’ buttons) on the Fortrea Clinical Trials website.
- Identify community outreach events, charities and local events that would serve to increase awareness of the local site in the general population and medical communities.
- Organise and manage multiple priorities and other administrative duties that support the marketing department.
Qualifications (Minimum Required)
- 1 year of professional experience with social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, etc.).
- Excellent written and oral communication skills, in particular, excellent standards of spelling, punctuation and grammar.
- Excellent social marketing conversation skills with a strong background in active participation on behalf of a brand.
- Web, mobile and technology savvy with understanding of new trends and the latest in social media innovation.
- Experience in managing web analytics applications (e.g., Google Analytics).
- Excel intermediate skills.
- Word intermediate skills (desirable).
- PowerPoint skills (desirable).
Preferred Qualifications
- Educated to degree level in Marketing, Communications or a related field, or 3 years’ experience in the social media industry in lieu of a degree.
