Our Financial Services Risk & Regulatory Advisory practice supports firms across banking, payments, fintech and cryptoassets as they respond to evolving regulatory expectations, strengthen governance, and build sustainable, compliant operating models.
We are seeking a Director to support delivery of high‑impact governance, conduct and regulatory advisory engagements across the Payments, Crypto and Retail Banking sectors. The role provides exposure to a wide range of clients, including fintechs, challenger banks, payments institutions and established financial services firms. You will work closely with Senior Directors and Managing Directors to design and implement proportionate regulatory solutions, helping clients respond effectively to regulatory change, supervisory expectations and internal governance challenges. This is a hands‑on, delivery‑focused role for an individual who enjoys solving complex regulatory problems in a collaborative and fast‑paced consulting environment.
What You’ll Do
- Support the delivery of governance, conduct and regulatory advisory engagements across payments, cryptoassets and retail banking clients.
- Lead defined workstreams or smaller end‑to‑end engagements under the direction of senior leadership.
- Contribute to the design and implementation of proportionate governance and conduct frameworks, including those aligned to SM&CR and Consumer Duty.
- Support operational resilience activities, including important business service mapping, impact tolerances and scenario testing.
- Assist with regulatory readiness and remediation programmes, such as DORA, MiCA, safeguarding or supervisory‑driven remediation.
- Conduct regulatory gap analysis and support development of implementation roadmaps and action plans.
Stakeholder Engagement
- Work directly with client stakeholders to gather information, conduct interviews and support workshops.
- Support preparation of clear, well‑structured client deliverables, including reports, findings papers and presentations.
- Communicate regulatory issues and recommendations in a clear and practical manner.
Team & Practice Contribution
- Contribute to internal knowledge sharing and development of regulatory insight.
- Support business development activity, including proposal drafting, pitch preparation and market research.

Basic Qualifications
- Several years’ experience gained in financial services risk, compliance, regulatory advisory or consulting roles.
- Degree‑level education or equivalent professional experience.
- Experience working with or advising firms operating in payments, cryptoassets, fintech or retail banking environments.
- Good understanding of the UK financial services regulatory framework, including governance, conduct and supervisory expectations.
- Working knowledge of FCA requirements, with the ability to interpret regulatory rules and guidance in a practical and proportionate manner.
- Experience supporting regulatory change, remediation or governance and operating model enhancement initiatives.
- Experience engaging with client stakeholders, including senior management and risk or compliance leadership.
Preferred Qualifications
- Professional qualifications in compliance, risk, governance or project delivery (e.g. ICA, IRM, CISI, PRINCE2 or Agile methodologies).
