The EMEA Legal, Risk & Compliance Team enjoys a challenging and varied workload which covers all legal issues arising from the operation of a professional services business. We strive to support the Business strategy by the prompt delivery of pragmatic, adaptable and solutions based legal advice to all levels within the business in EMEA.

The Europe, Middle East and Africa ("EMEA") region consists of 31 offices located in 16 countries – Belgium, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Netherlands, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, South Africa, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, United Arab Emirates, and the United Kingdom.

What You'll Do

  • Negotiate, draft and advise on a wide range of commercial contracts, including multi‐jurisdictional transactions.
  • Work closely with and manage external legal counsel across EMEA who are handling legal matters to ensure overall quality and value of legal services.
  • Advise EMEA senior management, client‐facing professionals and Legal, Risk & Compliance team on various aspects of corporate and commercial law.
  • Collaborate with members of the Legal, Risk & Compliance Team to develop a best‐in‐class team which partners with the business in a timely and effective way to drive profitability, business growth, and success.
  • Maintain and adapt standard templates that comply with company policies and local law.
  • Provide support to the Legal, Risk and Compliance team on any litigation and disputes, in addition to any transactions, including M&A and other business development transactions, as needed.
  • Work with the Legal & Compliance Team and the Business to identify, develop and implement forms and processes to improve the efficiency of handling internal legal matters.
  • Identify and analyse current and emerging legal and risk issues and effectively communicate the same and mitigation activities to the appropriate levels of the business.
  • Develop expertise in FTI's practice areas and service offerings and build strong relationships with FTI's client‐facing professionals.
  • Be proactive and adept at engaging across functions and supporting other areas where necessary and communicating with and managing relationships at a senior level.

  • Demonstrated ability to resolve complex legal issues in a commercial and compliant way, but also creative, business‐friendly, and cost‐effective ways with an appropriate sense of urgency.

Basic Qualifications

  • Qualified solicitor with several years PQE (approximately 5‐8 years), gained in a leading law firm and/or in‐house environment.
  • Strong grounding in corporate and commercial law, with significant experience handling commercial contracts.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in the professional services sector and/or a US multinational organisation would be advantageous.
  • Knowledge of employment law and litigation would be beneficial.
  • Additional European language skills would be an advantage.
