About the Role
As a Senior Director in Digital Forensics & Investigations, you will shape and deliver complex data‑driven client engagements, acting as a trusted advisor and expert to clients and external counsel.
What You’ll Do
- Advising clients and law firms in a range of data‑driven engagements within the framework of legal action or internal investigations.
- Leading client relationships, ensuring projects are delivered to the highest technical and ethical standards.
- Supporting regulatory investigations by interpreting and meeting the expectations of UK and international authorities.
- Acting as an expert witness – drafting and peer‑reviewing formal statements, preparing expert reports and providing oral evidence in court or arbitration.
- Leading complex digital forensic investigations across a broad range of devices, data systems and cloud environments.
- Directing mobile device forensic analysis, including advanced extraction, decryption, and interpretation of app and messaging data.
- Conducting forensic imaging, recovery, and analysis in line with industry best practice.
- Developing methodologies for cloud and hybrid ecosystems, including Microsoft 365, Google Workspace, AWS, Azure, and other SaaS or collaboration platforms.
- Integrating automation, analytics, and AI‑assisted techniques to enhance accuracy, speed, and defensibility.
- Mentoring and supporting junior team members, fostering a culture of excellence, curiosity and integrity.
- Collaborating across FTI’s EMEA and global networks to share knowledge, develop tools and contribute to cross‑disciplinary innovation.
- Travelling as required to perform work at client premises in the UK and internationally, sometimes at short notice.

Basic Qualifications
- Degree or postgraduate qualification in Computer Science, Digital Forensics, or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience.
- Experience conducting digital forensic investigations within consulting, law enforcement, or corporate environments.
- Drafting and peer‑review of digital forensic reports and expert reports for legal proceedings.
- Experience of regulatory investigations, with a sound understanding of regulator expectations, evidential requirements and disclosure processes.
- Expertise in mobile device forensics, including logical and physical extractions, artefact interpretation, and encrypted data handling.
- Strong knowledge of forensic tools and methodologies (e.g. EnCase, X-Ways, Nuix, Magnet AXIOM, Cellebrite, Oxygen, FTK).
- Ability to present technical findings clearly to legal and non‑technical stakeholders.
- Experience leading forensic collections both on‑site and remotely across the UK and internationally.
- High degree of professionalism, discretion, and resilience in high‑pressure environments.
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with cloud and SaaS forensics, including collection and analysis of collaboration and audit artefacts.
- Competence with scripting or automation languages (e.g. PowerShell, Python, SQL) for forensic workflow optimisation.
- Exposure to AI and machine learning applications in forensic and eDiscovery contexts (e.g. triage, clustering, anomaly detection, generative summarisation).
- Experience integrating forensic outputs within wider eDiscovery, incident response or regulatory frameworks.
- Professional certifications such as EnCE, GASF, GCFA, CISSP, RCA, or equivalent.
