About The Role
You will be joining FTI Consulting’s fast-growing, cross-sector Crisis & Litigation team in the Strategic Communications segment, based in London. The team regularly supports clients to prepare for and respond to threats to their organisation – including cyber-security incidents, significant operational disruptions, legal disputes, and other high-profile reputational issues.
As a Director on the team, you will play a key role in the delivery of crisis communications support and crisis management preparedness services for our clients. This will include:
- Advising on reputation management strategies and developing crisis communications responses to live client issues.
- Advising clients on communications strategies during complex legal disputes.
- Assessing crisis readiness and identifying improvements to client crisis plans and processes.
- Leading on the design and delivery of crisis training and simulation exercises for clients.
- Playing a central role in business development activities – including leading on proposals, drafting thought leadership, and contributing to team marketing events.
As part of the Crisis & Litigation team, you will:
- Grow your specialist crisis management and communications skills, furthering your understanding of what good practice crisis response looks like and how to embed this in complex organisations.
- Interact directly with senior leaders and clients, understanding how they operate under the pressure of crisis situations and techniques to manage this.
- Work as part of a wider international team and collaborate with sector experts from across FTI.
- Play a central role in business development and marketing initiatives, building your professional network and your understanding of running a practice – including good financial management.
- Work with our Graduates, Consultants and Senior Consultants to nurture and develop our pipeline of talent.

What You Will Need to Succeed
- Relevant work experience in an agency, consultancy, or an in-house corporate affairs role.
- Understanding of and genuine interest in crisis communications, litigation communications, and crisis management.
- Strong written/verbal communications and presentation skills.
- Can-do attitude and comfort operating in uncertain situations.
- Inquisitive mind and ability to juggle competing priorities.
- Desire to work in a fast-paced environment on live issues.
Preferred experience
- Demonstrated experience with live issues and crisis matters, reputation management, and executing a communications strategy in response to a crisis.
- Demonstrated experience of crisis management and communication preparedness activities, including designing crisis plans, training and simulation exercises.
- Experience in litigation communications is ideal but not required.
