About The Role
In FTI Consulting's Economic and Financial Consulting (EFC) practice, we provide expert advice on economics, finance, valuation and accountancy, both in complex commercial disputes and in industries undergoing regulatory change. Our internal Finance Team is supporting our consultants and their clients with all accounts, payments and invoicing processes. In Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA), we have teams based in London, Paris, Germany, Dubai, who work closely with teams around the globe. EFC London comprises over 160 professional staff.
An exciting new opportunity has become available for an Accounting and Taxation Apprentice Level 4 to become part of our Finance and Accounts Receivable team, supporting the Economic and Financial Consulting Practice. This role will prepare you on your journey for a career in Accounting and Finance and will include an additional CIMA qualification.
As a professional Accounting and Taxation Technician, you will be required to undertake (but not be restricted to) the following activities as part of your role:
- Calculating, recording, inputting, or processing financial data.
- Researching and investigating discrepancies in invoices to determine the accuracy of charges.
- Matching payments to invoice numbers or sales orders.
- Handling client inquiries regarding billing issues.
- Managing an Accounts Receivable ledger and Accounts Receivable files to reduce DSO and enhance cashflow.
- Escalate bad debts on a timely basis to senior management for resolution.
- Submitting reports to management on accounts receivable operations.
- Maintaining and creating from spreadsheets and dashboards in Power BI and Excel.
- Tracking overdue invoices and following up on them.
- Support with team projects and meetings.
- Communicate and liaise with internal and external stakeholders.
- Gain hands‐on experience with bookkeeping, ledger maintenance, and reconciliations.
- Support financial audits, providing necessary documentation and explanations.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of effective financial processes.
How You'll Grow
This programme is a 15‐month training course fully funded by FTI Consulting. You will spend approximately 20% of your time doing a mixture of formal training, coaching and work‐shadowing. The remaining time you will spend 'on‐the‐job', working and making a real contribution to our business. You will be able to put your newfound knowledge into practice with your experienced teammates always on hand to help you. This will involve "on the job" training, virtual visits from an Apprenticeship Coach, an internal line manager to provide ongoing guidance, online learning and will support you in creating a portfolio of evidence to substantiate your progress. You will be working towards an End‐Point Assessment (EPA) which will determine if you have the knowledge, skills, and behaviours listed in the Business administration Standard. You will gain international accredited CIMA Level 4 Certificate in Business Accounting qualification with this apprenticeship.

What You'll Need to Succeed
Basic Qualifications:
- 5 x GCSE qualifications at Grade 4 - 9, to include Maths and English at Grade 5/6 (B equivalent)
- BTEC Level 3 in Accounting/ Finance OR 3 A levels including Maths
- Experience with Microsoft Office packages such as Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Ideally the successful candidate will be a recent school or college leaver looking to start their career in Accounting
- At least 6 months work experience in an office environment
- Experience with Power BI desirable.
- Experience working in a customer service facing role desirable.
- Enthusiasm to learn and to support the other members of the team.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Ability to prioritise and manage a varied workload under pressure.
- Team player but highly self‐motivated with an ability to take initiative and solve problems.
- Quantitative approach.
