A leading manufacturer of premium concrete products and high-PSV aggregates is seeking an Area Sales Manager to support both domestic and export markets. The company supplies ready-mixed concrete, concrete masonry units, and aggregate solutions to a broad customer base across the construction sector. This client-facing role combines account management with new business development. The successful candidate will be responsible for building and maintaining strong relationships with merchants, builders, self-builders, agricultural customers, and other end users across Counties Armagh, Down, Monaghan, and Louth.
Key Responsibilities
- Promote and grow sales across the full product range, including concrete products and aggregates.
- Develop and maintain strong customer relationships to expand the customer base and increase brand awareness.
- Build strategic relationships with key decision-makers and manage major customer accounts.
- Maintain a strong understanding of customer requirements to ensure high levels of satisfaction and repeat business.
- Prepare accurate quotations, pricing, and cost calculations in a timely manner.
- Negotiate pricing, specifications, delivery schedules, and sales agreements.
- Resolve customer issues and complaints in collaboration with relevant departments.
- Support budgeting, forecasting, planning, and sales strategy activities when required.
- Assist with marketing initiatives and product promotion activities.
- Attend sales, production scheduling, and marketing meetings as required.
- Prepare reports and maintain accurate sales records.
- Work closely with finance teams regarding account and credit management.
Skills & Experience
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a sales role within a related industry.
- Experience working with merchants and builders’ providers is highly desirable.
- Technical sales experience within building materials, concrete, aggregates, or quarry products would be an advantage.
- Strong customer relationship management and communication skills.
- Commercially focused with a proven ability to generate and maintain business relationships.
- Good knowledge of the construction industry and key industry contacts preferred.
