FT Recruitment are working with a growing manufacturing business based in Tamworth, who are looking to appoint an experienced Purchasing, Buying & Scheduling Manager to support their continued expansion. This is a key role within the business, responsible for purchasing, inventory control, supplier scheduling, and the effective management of stores operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Placing routine purchase orders generated through:
  • 95% Kanban system
  • 5% MRP scheduling for long lead-time items
  • Maintaining Kanban systems and stock levels
  • Full responsibility for inventory control and inventory record accuracy
  • Setting up stock codes and maintaining re-order levels
  • Producing month-end stock reports
  • Managing Stores personnel and taking ownership of the Stores environment
  • Raising Health & Safety concerns, completing risk assessments, and supporting COSHH documentation alongside the Production Manager
  • Issuing weekly rollover schedules for Control Panels, Chassis Fabrications, and GRP parts to suppliers to support just-in-time production
  • Chasing overdue orders and shortages with suppliers
  • Producing weekly shortage reports using the MRP system and Stores shortage board
  • Supporting sourcing of new products or alternative parts in collaboration with the Technical team
  • General administration duties relating to purchasing and stock control
  • Ownership of year-end stock takes
  • Managing and maintaining a cyclic stock counting process
