About the Role
FT Recruitment are supporting our client to recruit for a Mortgage Advisor to join their Ellon or Inverurie office. This role is full time, however our client is open to part-time candidates (no less than 28 hours). In this role you will provide mortgage advice to clients involved in property transactions. Your role will be integral in offering a seamless end-to-end service, guiding clients through their mortgage options while ensuring compliance with regulatory and legal standards.
Key responsibilities of this role will include:
- Provide regulated mortgage advice to clients purchasing, remortgaging, or investing in property
- Assess clients financial situations and recommend suitable mortgage products
- Act as the main liaison between clients, lenders, and legal teams to ensure a smooth process
- Work closely with conveyancers and solicitors to align financial advice with legal documentation and timelines
- Keep up to date with market trends, products, and changes in mortgage regulation (FCA guidelines)
- Ensure all compliance, documentation, and fact-finding procedures are completed accurately and in line with firm and regulatory standards
- Maintain accurate client records and update internal case management systems
Requirements and qualifications required for this role:
- CeMAP (Certificate in Mortgage Advice and Practice) or equivalent qualification
- Minimum 2 years experience as a Mortgage Advisor
- Strong understanding of residential and buy-to-let mortgages
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to explain complex financial products in a client-friendly manner
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail
- Working knowledge of FCA regulations and mortgage compliance procedures
- Exceptional client relations skills, to build rapport and trust with clients for return business and to uphold the high standards of the firm's reputation
- The ability to work independently and under pressure with strict time constraints at times
