FT Recruitment Group are recruiting on behalf of our client for a Senior Legal Contracts Advisor based in Westhill, Aberdeenshire on a Permanent, Full Time basis, with Hybrid working available. This is a senior level advisory position, ideal for an experienced Contracts professional, ideally with a Legal background, who enjoys working closely with operational, commercial and technical stakeholders on complex offshore and vessel-related matters.
Main duties include:
- Draft, review and negotiate complex commercial and maritime contracts, including framework agreements, charter parties, NDAs and contractual amendments.
- Advise on non-standard terms, guarantees, warranties, claims and contractual risk.
- Support long-term vessel charter arrangements (time and bareboat charters).
- Provide contractual oversight for major capital expenditure projects, including vessel upgrades and new equipment.
- Manage complex vessel-related transactions such as sale and purchase, recycling and ownership changes.
- Contribute to process improvement, governance and best practice across contracting activities.
- Support internal stakeholders through training, mentoring and expert contractual guidance.
Suitable candidates should have the following:
- Extensive experience in a senior Contracts or Legal role within offshore, marine, energy or engineering environments.
- Strong contract drafting, review and negotiation capability across commercial and maritime agreements.
- Degree in Law, Business Management or a related discipline; professional or postgraduate legal qualification advantageous.
- Commercially astute with a pragmatic approach to risk management.
- Confident communicator, able to influence across technical, operational and commercial teams.
- Experience working with enterprise systems and CLM tools such as SAP and Ariba is beneficial.
- Candidates should be based locally to the Aberdeen area, and must hold the Right to Work in the UK.
