Job Description
FT Recruitment are supporting our client, a leading international industrial services provider, to recruit for a Planner on a 6 month FTC basis. This role will be based in Darly, North Ayrshire and will be 38 hours per week, fully onsite with potential overtime required.
Key responsibilities of this role:
- Transform approved work orders into comprehensive work packages, including time allocation, resource planning, material needs, access arrangements, method statements, preliminary risk assessments, and coordination with contractors as needed.
- Develop and issue the weekly maintenance schedule to ensure efficient planning and execution of tasks.
- Clearly define job scopes and initiate the permit-to-work process in alignment with safety and operational standards.
- Create detailed work plans and schedules, maintaining accurate records within the designated maintenance database.
- Generate cost estimates for maintenance activities to support budgeting and financial planning.
- Raise purchase requisitions for required materials, services, and equipment in support of planned work.
- Provide short-term cover for other Maintenance Technical Planners during periods of absence, including holidays and sickness, ensuring continuity of operations.
- Enforce and support the implementation of Safety, Health, Environment (SHE) and Quality policies in all maintenance planning activities.
Experience required:
- The successful candidates will have at least HNC and/or relevant maintenance and or project planning and scheduling experience
- Previous experience in a similar role as a Planner with a diverse and varied background / knowledge
- The ability to start this role immediately on a contract basis
- As well as have a track record of improving technical competence in their own area of discipline
- Good communication, flexible approach, self starter and team player
- Microsoft packages and SAP experience preferred but not essential
- Enforce and support the implementation of Safety, Health, Environment (SHE) and Quality policies in all maintenance planning activities
