FT Recruitment are currently supporting our client to recruit for a highly organised Logistics Coordinator to oversee and optimize their supply chain operations. This role involves coordinating transportation, managing inventory, and ensuring efficient distribution processes across multiple channels. The ideal candidate will possess strong data analysis skills, experience with warehouse management systems, and a solid understanding of supply chain management principles to support seamless logistics operations and improve overall efficiency. This is a full time (9am-5pm) role that is 100% office based. Our client is open to temporary and permanent candidate applications, an immediate start would be desirable but not essential.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate and manage transportation planning, freight, and shipping & receiving activities to ensure timely delivery of goods.
- Utilize ERP systems, Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), and transportation management systems to track inventory levels, order fulfillment, and distribution activities.
- Conduct root cause analysis to identify issues within the supply chain and implement process improvements.
- Oversee warehouse distribution, materials handling, and inventory control to optimize stock levels and reduce costs.
- Manage procurement activities including sourcing, vendor management, purchasing, and category management.
- Negotiate contracts with suppliers, 3PL providers, and freight carriers to secure favorable terms.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations related to warehouse operations such as forklift operation and materials handling.
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) related to logistics efficiency, profit & loss analysis, and supply chain analytics.
Skills & Experience required
- Previous experience (1 year) in a similar role such as logistics administrator or coordinator is desired for this role.
- Proficiency in supply chain management software including ERP systems.
- Knowledge of warehouse management systems (WMS) and transportation management systems (TMS).
- Proficiency in Microsoft packages such as Word, Excel and SharePoint.
- Experience with inventory management, demand planning, production planning, and procurement processes is desired.
- Excellent negotiation skills for vendor management and contract negotiations.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities within a fast-paced environment.
- Effective communication skills for collaborating across departments including sourcing, vendor relations, and distribution teams.
