We’re currently recruiting for a Senior Cloud Security Engineer to join a well-established organisation undergoing continued growth and investment in its cloud and security capabilities. This is a key hire within the IT Security team, offering the opportunity to play a pivotal role in strengthening and evolving cloud security across a complex, enterprise environment. Working closely with the Information Security Manager, you’ll be responsible for driving security improvements across cloud platforms, ensuring best practice is embedded, and supporting the wider business in managing risk effectively. This position will see you operating at a senior level within the security function, taking ownership of cloud security initiatives while collaborating with internal teams and third-party providers. You’ll also play a key role in shaping future strategy as cloud technologies and associated risks continue to evolve.
Responsibilities:
- Design and implement cloud security solutions across IaaS, PaaS and SaaS environments
- Develop, maintain and improve cloud security policies, standards and procedures
- Conduct regular security assessments and audits, identifying vulnerabilities and mitigating risk
- Support and manage security controls across Azure Active Directory and Microsoft 365
- Provide clear recommendations on security risks and remediation activities
- Support incident response, problem management and change processes
- Maintain and optimise cloud security tooling and platforms
- Lead post-incident reviews and drive continuous improvement
- Support mentoring and knowledge sharing across the wider IT and Security teams
- Keep up to date with emerging threats, vulnerabilities and industry best practice
What We’re Looking For:
- Strong experience working with cloud technologies, ideally Microsoft Azure
- Proven background delivering security within a modern, enterprise environment
- Industry certifications such as CISSP or CISM (desirable)
- Azure certifications (AZ-500, SC-300) would be advantageous
- Experience across Windows Server environments
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft 365 and Azure Active Directory (Microsoft Purview beneficial)
- Scripting experience using PowerShell
- Understanding of frameworks such as NIST, ISO27001 and GDPR
- Strong communication skills, able to engage with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Professional approach with a high level of integrity and confidentiality
- Broad understanding of IT infrastructure, systems and current technology trends
