FT Recruitment has been asked to exclusively partner with our technology-led client, managing their recruitment process for a DevOps Engineer to join their expanding team. Our client specialises in AI-driven platform development, delivered through cloud-native, microservices-based architectures. AI is used across the stack to accelerate platform delivery, automate operations and improve reliability. This will be a remote working role however, the candidate should live within the greater Aberdeen area.
Key Duties:
- Design, build and operate production Kubernetes clusters and supporting platform services
- Create and manage secure, scalable cloud infrastructure using infrastructure-as-code principles
- Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines and GitOps workflows using tools such as Argo CD or Flux
- Implement observability solutions including metrics, logging and tracing for platform monitoring
- Optimise platform performance, scalability and operational efficiency
- Contribute to backend tooling and automation where required
- Participate in code and configuration reviews, promoting engineering best practices
- Embed security into delivery pipelines, including image scanning, dependency management and secrets handling
- Support incident response, post-incident reviews and continuous service improvement
- Work collaboratively with engineering and product teams to support predictable, low-risk releases
Experience Required:
- Experience working within a DevOps, SRE or platform engineering role
- Strong hands-on experience with Kubernetes and container orchestration
- Experience with microservices architectures and cloud-native platforms
- Knowledge of GitOps methodologies and CI/CD tooling (e.g. Argo CD, Flux, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI)
- Proficiency with Terraform, Helm and at least one major cloud provider (AWS, Azure or GCP)
- Software engineering capability in a backend language such as Go, Python or TypeScript
- Understanding of observability tooling such as Prometheus, Grafana or OpenTelemetry
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Comfortable working within an agile, delivery-focused environment
