An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Business Systems Engineer to join a well-established business in the Aberdeen area. Working as part of a collaborative and experienced Business Systems team, you will play a key role in supporting, enhancing, and developing business-critical systems while contributing to a major ERP upgrade programme.

This is a varied, hands-on position that combines technical problem-solving with stakeholder engagement, offering exposure to ERP systems, reporting solutions, databases, and wider business improvement initiatives. The role provides an excellent opportunity to influence how systems are utilised across the organisation while gaining involvement in both day-to-day support and long-term strategic projects.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide ongoing support, configuration, and enhancement of ERP systems.
  • Investigate and resolve business system and reporting issues.
  • Develop and improve reports, dashboards, and data analysis solutions.
  • Work with databases to maintain data integrity and support business reporting requirements.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to gather, analyse, and define system requirements.
  • Support system testing, deployments, upgrades, and change management activities.
  • Produce and maintain technical and process documentation.
  • Contribute to ERP lifecycle management, integrations, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Support a range of project activities, including a significant ERP upgrade programme.

To be successful in this role, you will have experience working with ERP systems and supporting business applications within an IT or Business Systems environment. You will possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills, along with exposure to reporting tools, SQL databases, and data-driven decision-making. The ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders is essential. Experience within an engineering or manufacturing environment, involvement in ERP upgrades or implementations, and knowledge of system testing and lifecycle management would be advantageous.
