Hi, I run an e-commerce platform for florists in the UK, and we are looking for an experienced, remote backend PHP developer to join our team of 4 developers.
- Strong Core PHP experience, ideally PHP 8+
- Excellent MySQL knowledge, including queries, joins, indexes, schema changes, and debugging data issues
- Experience working on e-commerce platforms, including orders, products, checkout, payments etc
- Cron jobs, Docker, Nginx, PHP-FPM, Jira, Git
- Performance optimisation
- Server management, especially LAMP stack environments
- Improve database reliability and performance
- Understands e-commerce logic and the importance of not breaking live orders or payments
Contract and salary:
- Long-term role
- 3-7 hours per day, Monday to Friday
- Hourly rate: £14-£20 / $18-$27 depending on expertise
- Monthly salary: approximately £600-£2,000 / $800-$2,700 depending on hours and experience
- Remote working with stable income
