A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an experienced Fire Installation Engineer to join a growing and highly respected fire & security team. We are looking for a skilled Fire Installation Engineer who can install and commission a wide range of life-safety systems, with fire alarms as the primary focus. This role is ideal for a Fire Installation Engineer who takes pride in high-quality workmanship, excellent customer service, and professional standards. Key Purpose of the Role: Installation and commissioning of fire and security systems, including fire alarms, CCTV, access control, nurse call, and intruder alarm systems. The main focus will be fire alarm installation.
Responsibilities:
- Install fire alarm systems to a high standard, including additions, moves, and changes
- Strong technical knowledge aligned with BS5839-1; HTM-05-03 Part B desirable
- Excellent understanding of fire alarm signalling devices (Emizon, Dual-Com, Permaconn)
- Communicate professionally with customers while working on-site
- Deliver exceptional customer service with a clean, tidy, and professional work ethic
- Adapt to new products, environments, and requirements
- Knowledge of fire alarm equipment, including Advanced, Apollo, Honeywell Gent & Eurotech
- Ability to read and interpret building plans and CAD drawings
- Work closely with customers to meet installation specifications
- Maintain effective communication with management, supervisors, and admin teams
- Work independently or as part of a team across East Anglia, with travel as required
- Complete all documentation, including schematics and drawings
- Plan and manage workload effectively
- Willingness to travel and work away when required
- Adhere to Health & Safety policies and toolbox talks
- Ensure personal and team safety in line with company policy
- Carry out any reasonable tasks requested by management
Essential Requirements:
- Minimum 5 years' experience in the fire alarm & life-safety industry
- Fully conversant with BS5839-1
- Strong knowledge of conventional and addressable fire alarm systems
- Full UK driving licence
- Checkable work history and references
- Computer literate
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Ability to work nights and weekends with notice
- Ability to meet tight deadlines alongside other contractors
- FIA Fundamentals 1 & 2
