We are seeking a senior‑level Fire Alarm Commissioning Engineer to take ownership of commissioning fire detection and alarm systems, while also supporting engineers across the business with knowledge sharing and technical escalation. Key Purpose of the Role

As a Fire Alarm Commissioning Engineer, you will be responsible for commissioning fire detection and alarm systems to the highest standards. Experience in commissioning door access, CCTV, and intruder alarm systems is highly beneficial.

Key Responsibilities

  • Minimum 5+ years senior commissioning experience on fire systems
  • Commissioning of conventional and analogue addressable fire alarm systems
  • Commissioning of Intruder, Access Control, Nurse Call and CCTV systems (beneficial)
  • Installation of small works across all life safety systems
  • Deliver ongoing training to engineers to support companywide technical development
  • Implement security processes as directed by management
  • Report security events, risks, or potential issues
  • Understand client needs and deliver all required tasks to a high standard
  • Commission fire systems to BS5839‑1 and Part 6
  • Strong understanding of advanced cause‑and‑effect logic
  • Diagnose and rectify complex commissioning‑stage faults
  • Knowledge of HTM 05‑03 Part B desirable (training provided)
  • Complete commissioning certificates, test results, and handover documentation
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office
  • Support system demonstrations, client training, and final handovers
  • Assist with modifications, remedial works, and service tasks when required

  • Strong background in Fire & Security
  • GENT and Advanced fire alarm system knowledge
  • Excellent first‑time resolution and risk‑management skills
  • Strong communication skills
  • Proven experience within fire engineering
  • Experience in service and repair work
  • Experience with both conventional and addressable systems across multiple manufacturers
  • Excellent installation practices
  • Full understanding of BS5839‑1
  • Full UK driving licence
  • FIA commissioning accreditations
  • Proven track record working on large‑scale systems
