About the role As a Senior Cyber Security Architect at Fsp, you will play a pivotal role in safeguarding our clients' digital assets and infrastructure. This position requires a deep understanding of security architecture principles, as well as the ability to design and implement robust security solutions tailored to meet the unique needs of our clients. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure that security is integrated into every aspect of the organization's operations. Your expertise will be critical in identifying vulnerabilities and developing strategies to mitigate risks, thereby enhancing the overall security posture of the organization.

What you'll do

  • Design and implement comprehensive security architectures that align with organizational goals and compliance requirements.
  • Conduct thorough risk assessments to identify vulnerabilities in existing systems and recommend appropriate mitigation strategies.
  • Collaborate with IT and development teams to integrate security best practices into the software development lifecycle.
  • Develop and maintain security policies, standards, and procedures to ensure compliance with industry regulations and best practices.
  • Lead security architecture reviews and provide guidance on security-related decisions and projects.
  • Stay current with emerging security threats and technologies, and proactively recommend enhancements to security measures.
  • Conduct security awareness training for employees to foster a culture of security within the organization.
  • Participate in incident response planning and execution, ensuring that security incidents are managed effectively and lessons learned are documented.
  • Work closely with stakeholders to ensure that security considerations are included in business decisions and project planning.
  • Evaluate third-party vendors and partners for security compliance and risk management.
  • Prepare and present security architecture proposals and reports to senior management and stakeholders.
  • Mentor junior security professionals and provide guidance on best practices in security architecture.

Requirements

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in cyber security, with a focus on security architecture and design.
  • Proven experience in risk assessment and management, as well as vulnerability management.
  • Strong knowledge of security frameworks and standards such as NIST, ISO 27001, and CIS Controls.
  • Proficiency in security technologies, including firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, and encryption protocols.
  • Experience with cloud security architecture and understanding of cloud service models (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS).
  • Familiarity with regulatory requirements such as GDPR, PCI DSS, and HIPAA.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically about security issues.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to convey complex security concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CISM, or CCSP are highly desirable.

Nice to have

  • Experience with DevSecOps practices and tools.
  • Knowledge of secure coding practices and application security testing.
  • Familiarity with threat modeling techniques and tools.
  • Experience in incident response and digital forensics.
  • Understanding of network security protocols and architectures.

Skills & tools

  • Proficient in security assessment tools such as Nessus, Qualys, or similar.
  • Familiarity with SIEM solutions and security monitoring tools.
  • Experience with scripting languages (Python, PowerShell) for automation of security tasks.
  • Knowledge of identity and access management solutions.
  • Understanding of endpoint protection technologies and strategies.

Practical notes

  • This position is based in either Glasgow or Reading, Berkshire, and may require occasional travel to client sites.
  • The role may involve working outside of standard business hours in response to security incidents or during critical project phases.
  • Candidates must be eligible to work in the UK, and visa sponsorship is available for exceptional candidates.
