Senior Quantity Surveyor who combines technical confidence with commercial instinct—someone who enjoys being client‑facing, building relationships, spotting opportunities, and helping shape the next phase of FSL Projects’ growth.

Role Overview
As a
Senior Quantity Surveyor at FSL Projects, you will play a hands‑on role in delivering cost consultancy and Employer’s Agent services while also acting as a confident ambassador for the business.
You will work closely with the Managing Director on client engagement and business development activity, helping to identify opportunities, strengthen relationships, and contribute to proposals and pitches.
You will be involved across multiple sectors and project stages, using your technical judgement, commercial awareness, and communication skills to deliver excellent outcomes.
- Business Development & Client Engagement
- Actively contribute to the generation of new and repeat business.
- Build long‑term relationships with clients, consultants, and stakeholders.
- Prepare fee proposals and assist with tender submissions and presentations.
- Identify opportunities for upselling and cross‑selling FSL’s full range of services.
- Attend networking events, client briefings, and industry functions to represent FSL.
- Project Delivery
- Deliver quantity surveying, cost consultancy, and employer’s agent services across varied project types.
- Lead on cost planning, procurement, contract documentation including bills of quantities, post‑contract roles and contract administration.
- Prepare and manage detailed cost estimates, cash flows, and cost reports.
- Undertake valuations, assess variations, and manage final accounts.
- Visit sites to measure, report on progress, and ensure accurate valuations.
- Act as Fund Monitor Surveyor on behalf of funding institutions.
- Act as a trusted advisor to clients, providing insight, control, and guidance throughout project lifecycles.
- Team Support & Operational Excellence
- Support junior team members through mentoring and day‑to‑day guidance.
- Maintain up‑to‑date project documentation and contribute to internal process improvements.
- Work collaboratively with the wider team to ensure high service standards and client satisfaction.
- Represent FSL Projects in meetings and act as a key contact for clients.
- Candidate Profile
We are looking for a confident, commercially minded Senior QS who is ready to step into a role with greater influence, client contact, and long‑term opportunity.
You will ideally bring
- A solid background in quantity surveying with experience delivering multiple project types.
- Strong interpersonal skills and a natural ability to build and maintain client relationships.
- A keen interest in the commercial growth of a consultancy and involvement in business development.
- A proactive mindset, able to work independently and as part of a team.
- Experience acting as Employer’s Agent or an interest in developing this skillset.
- Professional qualifications (e. g., MRICS or working towards) are desirable.
