The Head of Onboarding owns end-to-end corporate client onboarding and KYB across the business. You will lead a small specialist team, act as the senior escalation point for complex and high-risk cases, and work closely with the MLRO, Compliance, Legal, Sales, and Product to support growth within the firm’s risk appetite.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and develop a team of onboarding specialists
- Own the corporate onboarding and KYB framework, including regulated firms and higher-risk sectors
- Act as the senior escalation point for complex, high-risk, and sensitive onboarding cases
- Ensure onboarding decisions align with AML policies, regulatory requirements, and risk appetite
- Oversee complex KYB reviews involving cross-border and multi-layered ownership structures
- Drive continuous improvement, scalability, and automation of onboarding processes
- Provide clear guidance and reporting to senior management and key stakeholders
Skills & Experience
- Significant experience leading or owning corporate onboarding / KYB within fintech, payments, FX, or financial services
- Strong hands-on knowledge of onboarding regulated businesses and high-risk sectors
- Deep understanding of AML regulations and risk-based onboarding
- Experience acting as an escalation point and making defensible onboarding decisions
- Proven people management experience
